Hi, Great site!!! I love the DC-8 too! I don't fly, but my dad flew 8's for years and was wondering if any of you flew with him? He flew as a captain for Zantop and Emery/worldwide and CFL, and was their check airman. I figured someone on here probably knew him? I did not bother with his name, it's the same as mine. : )

What a great site! Loved the old stuff in particular. Flew (F/E & F/O) on -30s,-40s, -50s,-60s and -70s since '76. I love my current 757/767 but they don't build them like the -8 anymore. Like we used to say when you'd switch the pneumatics to high at top of descent "Shift the blowers! Blow the shifters! Whatever it takes!" Thanks for your work. LSB

On "Airliners.net", Photo ID:# 785413
shows a DC-8-72 dumping water right after take-off. In the photo description, the author calls it "washing water". I've never seen that before. Can somebody tell me something about it? Thanks....jd

Ken,

This site has come a long way. I had to take a job in the training center just to stay on the 8 and enjoy flying with you any time (except X-mas eve).

Brent
